The State Bar considers a new rule that would append a courtesy and professionalism statement to the oath attorneys must take before they are admitted to practice law.

The Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct issues an advisory opinion interpreting the rules governing whether attorneys may represent an individual client who has filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy if they also represent one of the client’s creditors in an unrelated matter.
