The Lawyers Club of San Diego will mark “40 Years
of Making Dreams a Reality” at its annual dinner, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday,
May 16, US Grant Hotel, 326 Broadway, San Diego. The keynote speaker is
scheduled to be California Chief Justice Tani

The Solano County Bar Association lost its offices on the
night of January 13, when a five-alarm fire gutted the two-story Empire
Professional Building on the 700 block of Empire Street in Fairfield.
The 2011 membership of the Beverly Hills Bar Association exceeds
4,960 – the largest count in the organization’s 80 years. BHBA is
also planning an 80th birthday “Party in the Park”
scheduled for Wednesday, June 27. The event is expected to include a ceremonial
ribbon-cutting to open its newly remodeled offices on the second floor of the
Rolex Building.
Dimetria Jackson, the new president of the Orange County Bar
Association, has outlined her 2012 initiatives: 1) Strategic plan for
the OCBA; 2) create a committee to address issues pertaining to women lawyers
with young children; and 3) explore technology and social media as they relate
to OCBA and its membership.
The San Diego County Bar Association and the Contra
Costa County Bar Association each recently received 2011 Luminary Awards
from the National Association of Bar Executives – Communications Section.
NABE recognized the San Diego bar for “Excellence in Website
Design” and for its San Diego Lawyer publication. The Contra Costa bar
was recognized for “Excellence in Electronic Publications.”
