Taking the pledge

Across California, thousands of new lawyers are taking their oaths to become attorneys. Only a few were as large as the swearing-in ceremony that took place June 5 at the Oakland Convention Center, where 145 people were sworn in. The scenes were both solemn and jubilant, as young and old participated in the occasion.
