Board officer elections feature 3 contested races
The State Bar Board of Trustees will choose between Trustee
David Pasternak and Vice President Heather Rosing to serve as the next
president of the bar.

Rosing, 43, of Klinedinst PC in San Diego, has been on the board
since 2011 as an elected member from District 4. Pasternak, 64, of the Los
Angeles law firm of Pasternak & Pasternak, was appointed by the California
Supreme Court in 2012.
The July 24 officers’ election will also feature contested
races for vice president and treasurer.

Running for vice president are current Treasurer Michael
Colantuono and Trustee James Fox. Fox, former district attorney of San Mateo
County, was appointed by the California Supreme Court in 2014. Colantuono, of
Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley PC of Penn Valley, was recently
re-appointed to a second three-year term by the Speaker of the California
Assembly.
The race for treasurer features Granite Bay attorney Joanna
Mendoza, who was elected from District 3 in 2013, and Danette Meyers, who was
elected from District 2 in 2014.
